Arizona Campus Ministries gathered in the mountainous city of Payson, Arizona for the “Radical” Campus Ministry Retreat. We joined with about 70 campus students from all different schools across the state to worship, fellowship and connect to God through lessons, prayer and the Word.
It was a moving time where students were able to get away from the craziness of life and spend some time in reflection of God’s creation and renewal of their spirits. This was a powerful weekend for many students who in the midst of a hectic semester needed an encouraging time to hear about the goodness of God and to be reminded his extraordinary power!
The retreat kicked off Friday night with Bryan Baylon and Marielos Castro teaching a lesson on having Radical Holiness. As campus students living holy lives that are set apart from the rest of the world takes courage, commitment and faith. This lesson looked at how our lives can look when we live walk the wide road or choose to be set apart and walk down the narrow road. Later
that night we had a Glow in the Dark/Capture the Flag activity under the open night sky.
Saturday was packed full of fun and convicting times. The morning kicked off with a lesson by Floyd and Tamara Grossett. The lesson was on Radical relationships and helped show the campus ministries what biblical relationships should reflected; love, purity, humility to name a few. Later on the day we had a Powderpuff game with just the women playing and the men either coaching or cheering on. It was upper vs lower classmen and was a very competitive time. Congratulations to the lower classmen victory!
Saturday night concluded with a “young guns” lesson with one brother from each of the campus ministries preached on different areas of radical living. John Thomas (Flagstaff), Garrett Sciascia (Phoenix) and David Molina (Tucson) poured out their hearts sharing how living radically for God allows us to experience victories and opportunities that are only possible through Him. Sunday concluded with a morning worship service all together. Floyd Grossett did a lesson on Radical Impact with a main point to make a decision to be consistent in one area of life. The retreat was a great time together building memories, unity and a closer relationship with God!
