200 teens and counselors descended on Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado for an historic time of impact, worship, and fun. Campers came from sister churches in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. The July 2015 “I Am” Camp focused on the qualities and the names of God on a daily basis.
One of the highlights of camp was the morning devotionals. We spent considerable time in pure worship, reflecting on scriptures and meditating on God’s qualities together in between heartfelt devotional singing. This year we also added an incredible starlight devo late at night, studying some of the majesty of the stars together under Rob Ferry’s tutelage. The preaching was electric! Young and older ministers came together to deliver powerful messages. Students’ faith in the great I AM increased, convictions were strengthened, and decisions were made for God. Delano Stewart from Las Vegas lead us in crazy-fun competitions, including our annual shaving cream war. Per usual, the Friday night dance under the stars was quite something— partying in “God’s way” together, rejoicing in our relationship with Him, and the friendships we built together.
Praise God for godly camps to attend! The Staff from the various churches came together to work seamlessly for their God and their kids. A big thanks to Wade and Deb cook for spearheading the effort!
