Visit to the Mexicali Church

On the weekend of November 13th-15th, Matt and Terry Neely, Sasha and Axel Ferguson, and Pavel Aspiazu had the great honor of being able to visit the Mexicali Church for a parenting workshop, and to celebrate their 19th year anniversary as a Church.

Warmth, hospitality, sincerity, generosity, contentment regardless of their circumstances, are words that we came away with that would describe our experience. We were able to spend the day on Saturday in two sessions talking about Purposeful Parenting and how to personally remain righteous and faithful, when our children are not making similar decisions. We had lots of time for discussion during fellowship, but much more so as we shared dinner that evening at one of the disciples home. One of the highlights was to see a couple that had come out for the first time to the parenting workshop with their new born and we there again on Sunday to worship with us.

Terry did an amazing job teaching, and bonding with the sisters.

Terry and I enjoyed our time in Mexicali tremendously and plan to go back soon. One of the highlights of the trip was to be able to teach the class with our daughter Sasha and Son in Law Axel Ferguson. You guys did amazing!

We of course could not have done this without the help of our interpreter Pavel. Thank you so much Pavel it was great traveling with you and laboring in the Lord together.

So, if you’re looking for an opportunity to encourage and be encouraged, (and well fed), go to El Centro, California and head south to see our Brothers and Sisters in Mexicali.
